2007 exhibition - 2008 Calendar
Description: Mercy Walker took this photo of her three close friends, from left to right, Deiree (4), Chloe (6) and Imagen (3). She has known the girls all her life and wanted to capture their friendship through this image. She said that she tried to get them to pose, but they started walking down the street. She then called Diseree and Imagen so they turned around, while Chloe faced the other way.
Photographer Bio: This photo was taken outside the house on Jackson Street where photographer Mercy Walker (10) was born. She lives with her family in a supportive community of Christian families formed by her parents in the early 1990s. Her sister Hannah won the top prize last year with a photo called Kiss on the Steps which also featured Diseree (left).
