A New Place to Call Home: The Have Cafe and Hope in Shadows

Over the years, Hope in Shadows has acquired an extensive number of excellent photographs.

However, other than visiting the Flickr website, where else could you see past winning photos in your own time on a whim? Hope in Shadows has held retrospective exhibitions in the past, and these are always great; however, exhibitions must come down and if you missed it, then you have to wait till the next one...

Not anymore! Hope in Shadows has teamed up with H.A.V.E. Cafe to bring you good food and great photos. Located at 374 Powell Street, the  H.A.V.E. Café is a social enterprise in the Downtown Eastside that is dedicated to developing job and life skills in its students. Students are selected based on need and put through an 8-week culinary training curriculum. For practical experience, students prepare the meals served to the customer H.A.V.E. Café.

Hope in Shadows has placed several of its award winning photos in the cafe for the viewing pleasure of diners. The photos will be on rotation every couple months, so there will never be a dull visit!
