Connect with us at Rhizome!

We will be connecting Hope in Shadows supporters to discuss the project and listen to ideas about what we do.
We’re inviting our supporters to spend an evening with us on May 27th at Rhizome Café on East Broadway.
Hope in Shadows is about building connections and strengthening communities. So we want to do just that by bringing our community of supporters and project participants together.
This special event will be an opportunity to connect with calendar vendors and photo contest participants in a café setting and hear first hand what the project means to them. It’ll also be a chance to provide feedback and discuss where the project is headed. To top it off, the evening will feature a short documentary film about the photography contest and a reading from the Hope in Shadows book by one of the authors.
Each year Hope in Shadows brings the stories and perspectives of people living in the Downtown Eastside into thousands of homes and workplaces around the country, while providing meaningful and flexible employment to hundreds of low income people. The project’s success has always depended on supporters who believe that the residents of the Downtown Eastside have the capacity to tell their own stories about their lives and their community. Please join us at this event to connect our communities in a meaningful way!
